If you're still using Windows Vista (like me) and would like to play games with the XBOX One Controller, then you're pretty much out of luck.. Right? No! You can actually install the Windows 7+ XBOX One Controller driver on Windows Vista without modifying anything. You just need to extract the .MSI installer and install the driver via Device-Manager. But you don't need to do all this since i already uploaded it for you.. DOWNLOAD DRIVERS Have fun!

There was never any talk of a modified KB4018556 respectively KB4018556-v2. There were problems with KB4074852, KB4134651 and currently KB4134651-v2, where a modified update was created. For the modification, the file oleaut32.dll was taken from KB4018556-v2 with a change of the file version.

I can confirm heinoganda KB4134651-v2 fixes the Windows Live Mail bug I was experiencing. Thank you soooooo much!!!! When I replaced the file, I was presented with these updates. I installed them and replaced only oleaut32.dll from heinoganda KB4134651-v2. I can't say, Jody. I would suggest that either holding back at (I believe) the December 2017 level or bringing your system fully up to date are the most viable alternatives. Based on what I've read some of the Meltdown mitigations changed the entire way the operating system is built from sources, so I don't think this is a mix/match type of situation. I have always kept my critical systems up to date, and have been blessed or lucky to have good, stable operation, but a best case slowdown equivalent to the difference between my computer and one I could have bought for $1,000 less was simply something I couldn't accept.
