  1. @FranceBB... my XP Pro is fully legit, bought it cash at the time. Anyway, no need to report Microsoft about their poor update concerning KB4134651-v2, I cant believe they delivered updates that created problems in may, then same problems in july. We are lucky heinoganda is here, with a fantastic new version of oleaut32.dll (5.1.2600.7494) when Microsoft's is 5.1.2600.7248 . All my issues have disappeared with heinoganda's version : the internet icon is visible again when connected, and the "find target" works again. Only thing bad that could happen is Microsoft injects again the buggy oleaut32.dll in future updates (from august 2018 to april 2019, which should be the last update for POSready). But with you guys controlling everything here, there sure will be a solution in case it happens. A great week-end to you all and thanks a lot

  2. All the post SP3 updates are signaled in this way so as to be deleted if an SP4 was ever released. It's in fact something typical, Microsoft never planned to release SP4 for Windows XP.

  3. If Microsoft Update says you're fully patched with up to date patches, and everything in Windows Explorer is working as it should be, I don't see any reason to uninstall any of them. In your position I would completely uninstall Malwarebytes and see if the system is then stable, with no BSODs or freezes. If it is, then try reinstalling it.

  4. It's just a stopgap, because the oleaut32.dll file comes from KB4018556-v2, where each version number has been adjusted. I would prefer synonymous if MS would finally solve this problem and again an update would appear where the file oleaut32.dll works correctly again. Hope dies last!

  7. Just my 2 cents, part of a developer's interest is the fun and reward of their work. I have noticed for other useful projects in the past, too much negativity (nagging, repeating the same complaints, etc) rather than taking the time to thank the developer for their work often leads to the developer (understandably) losing interest. For the development and updates of AeroGlass, I doubt Bigmuscle has any help and he probably has other commitments too, so we should be grateful that he is still working on it despite MS's updates constantly breaking it. Also, I very much doubt the donations come close to paying for his work, so it is still to a large extent voluntary work on his part. The April update was released on the very last day of April, only 2 1/2 months ago (not 4 which seems to be quoted regularly here). Bigmuscle has taken longer than this in the past, at a time when more people were posting on the forum and yet fewer of them complaining. So perhaps we can return to the OP topic and thank Bigmuscle for his continued work and for his latest release, no matter when it does come out.

  8. I wanted to provide an update to my post from last year. It appears that the Flash Player installers are again functioning on XP SP2. Previously, the installers newer than 19.0.0.245 would silently close when attempting to run them. It must be related to SHA1 or SHA2. Adobe's solution last year was to simply update to XP SP3: https://forums.adobe.com/message/9346257#9346257

  9. The issues are not immediately obvious. If you look at the properties of a shortcut and select the "Find Target" button, does it work? It not working is one of the symptoms of the bug(s) in the recent versions of oleaut32.dll.
