  1. Let's say you've got jre1.8.0_152 already installed. It'll be at C:\Program Files\Java\jre1.8.0_152 Rename that to C:\Program Files\Java\Old_java Create a new folder and rename it to C:\Program Files\Java\jre1.8.0_152 (it'll be empty, of course). Extract all the contents (subfolder included) from jre-8u172-windows-i586.tar.gz into that empty folder just created. Merge the attached .reg to the registry (it must be modified for each new version, of course). Replace the old javacpl.cpl at C:\WINDOWS\system32 by the new version from now on C:\Program Files\Java\jre1.8.0_152\bin Reboot and enjoy your updated java! Note: updated .REG file is in the post below.

  2. However, for those wanting old-fashioned sha1 Digital Signatures that can be validated by Windows XP, the direct download links are those below: Internet Explorer ActiveX: http://fpdownload.adobe.com/get/flashplayer/pdc/30.0.0.134/install_flash_player_ax.exe Mozilla Firefox NPAPI (also for Opera Presto/Google Chrome 44 and earlier): http://fpdownload.adobe.com/get/flashplayer/pdc/30.0.0.134/install_flash_player.exe Google Chrome 45 through 49 PPAPI: http://fpdownload.adobe.com/get/flashplayer/pdc/30.0.0.134/install_flash_player_ppapi.exe ... as usual.

  3. @dencorso Your point is valid, but only for the time being. Please read on: I have decided to get away from posting direct links to specific versions of Flash Player, because these Adobe links quickly become broken / disabled after the next one or two immediate updates. So I now use the generic links. It is fine to put links for specific versions, but it is important to recognize that people referring to these posts and attempting to download using these links in the future will be unsuccessful. So, our posts with direct links for specific versions well eventually break. For example, the direct links in this post by @Bersaglio no longer work: https://msfn.org/board/topic/174085-newest-adobe-flash-and-shockwave-and-java-too/?do=findComment&comment=1150533 Even the links for the relatively recent 29.0.0.171 release from May 2018 no longer work: http://fpdownload.adobe.com/get/flashplayer/pdc/29.0.0.171/install_flash_player_ppapi.exe http://fpdownload.adobe.com/get/flashplayer/pdc/29.0.0.171/install_flash_player.exe http://fpdownload.adobe.com/get/flashplayer/pdc/29.0.0.171/install_flash_player_ax.exe

  7. WARNING TO ADOBE FLASH USERS IN CHINA For Adobe Flash (plugin/standalone player) users, if you need taking your computer to China(PRC), you will be asked to install a Chinese customized version of Flash Player(by detecting with China IP when you browse internet), which has a "Flash Helper Service" installed, and that service is done by Chinese company for collecting user data to Chinese Government/Police. So if you need to bring your computer to China(PRC), it is better to keep it in version 29. (PepperFlash from Google Chrome official builds are also affected.) For Flash plugin comes from Windows Update (for IE/Edge use) is not affected. Related discussions in Chinese: https://bbs.kafan.cn/thread-2123485-1-1.html
