Wasim
isnt win xp professional only available from shops whereas corp is available for companies?
oioldman
Can you manually install SP2 over an installed system? If this fails then you know it is an invalid verison of XP in eyes of M$ and i would have to agree with comment by Wasim, XP is either retail or OEM from a shop not a corporate verison. prathapml
The CD you have got is not exactly a legit one - the shop has given you a pirated CD. Use only licensed versions of software, to prevent problems like this.Or, ask the shop to give you a new SP2-compatible key.

I'm going to give it back to the shop for a replacement. This should work!! Thanks for all your help.
