  2. I will take a look. But first I need the files: HDACFG.INI (or .txt), HDALOG.TXT and if available HDAICIN.TXT. They are/ should be in your Windows-folder. So please upload!
  3. 0x7b stop error means the mass storage driver is missing.
  4. I think you should check out Windows Sidebar port for Windows 8 and newer called 8GadgetPack, it comes with a gadget for safely-removing drives
  5. You can get the text back on Firefox 72 before whatever updated in the forum that broke compatibility, and Iron 109. For the MSFN links, when you paste the link, and the preview comes up, click the black banner that says to show only link. It seems that sometimes the preview option for forum links doesn't work.
  6. I remember that on my old (not functional anymore) laptop which was running Windows Vista & Windows 7 my eternal drive would spin-down on safe-removal only when it was plugged into USB3 ports and not USB2 (same behavior on both OSes). But what probably made the difference was that for USB3 I had AMD drivers installed, while for USB2 I didn't bother and stayed with Windows's build-in ones. So you should probably just install drivers from AMD/Intel.
  7. Hi @awhooley, hello from Belgium and welcome to MSFN! I wish you to enjoy the forums! Have a nice day. hpwamr

  9. Ok. As usual the proof is in the pudding. I have two partitions with Windows XP installed. One with POSReady 2009 and one without. I will test that and report here. I have just tested uBlock Origin 1.57.2 in Mypal 68.14.0b multi-process mode on my Windows XP partition without any POSReady 2009 updates. Same issue. When starting to load the filter list Adguard - Ads, all is over. Endless loading and uBlock Origin is then completely broken. Thus, as I already assumed, this issue is definitely not related to POSReady 2009 patches/updates.
  10. Of course, this is all a little confusing. But the multi-process mode of Mypal 68 has nothing directly to do with a multi-core CPU. In multi-process mode, Mypal 68 opens every single tab, all extensions and other things into new browser processes, just as Chrome (including 360Chrome) has been doing for a long time. The advantage of Mypal 68 is that the single-process mode still exists and can be switched on if desired. Each of these modes has advantages, but also disadvantages, as you surely know.
  11. I'm confused. If your computer is single-core, then why were you testing in multi-process mode? Guess I "assumed" that multi-proces was ONLY for multi-core. But it is an "assumption".
  12. Hello and welcome to Austria!
  13. Hello Does anyone know if it's a registry key or a setting that causes the Windows font to be darker with SAB (dark mode off) ? Without SAB : With SAB : Thanks
  14. SAB. When we tested upgrading SAB 3.7.8 to 3.7.9, the SAB taskbar was turned off when the upgrade finished. The upgrade takes about 1 second and when explorer restarted, the regular Win 11 taskbar was present. We just went and ran StartAllBackCfg.exe manually and turned on the taskbar. It used the previous settings from 3.7.8 and we had the SAB taskbar back. We don't consider anything in the upgrade process an issue or problem. For us, SAB works 100%. Jim
  15. Memory read errors? Is your RAM stable in all/other applications? Perhaps try Serpent 52.9. I believe NM 28 profile would work with it.
  16. Thanks for your assessment! I tend to agree with that. My Windows XP computer is indeed equipped with a 32-bit single-core CPU. I think using Mypal 68 in single-process mode is more suitable as I already did from the very first. In this mode, it uses much less RAM.
  17. That would suggest that the phone is recognized as a "hub" and what is disconnected/powered down is a "secondary" port, the port that does picture/video transfer versus the port that charges the phone. XP powers down the port when disconnected. x86 and x64.
  18. Ok. As usual the proof is in the pudding. I have two partitions with Windows XP installed. One with POSReady 2009 and one without. I will test that and report here.
  19. Some bugs could look like that in practice. One program I work with at my workplace had an issue in the past where a specific function caused the crash, we noticed at some point during diagnosis the customer is using single-core CPU. It crashed on our test systems as well when we ran the program with affinity set to 1 core.
  20. I wouldn't rule it out, if you have a way to test without POSReady. We (plural) [work-related] had several several SEVERAL issues with POSReady. Our IT ended up "banning" POSReady on all factory computers running XP.
  21. You're right. My Windows XP Professional SP3 32-bit is fully updated with all patches/updates after SP3 including all POSReady 2009 ones. But this was never a problem. And uBlock Origin 1.57.2 works fine here in single-process mode. Thus, I don't think that the problem is related to POSReady 2009 patches. But thanks for your opinion!
  22. Might be, I said I don't recall exactly, just seem to (mis?)remember that LED on USB flash drives always powered down on my Windows systems (if this is any indication), but it's been a while since I've actually used Windows 7 specifically and don't have a usable Win7 install at hand to test. Win7 was my main OS in the older days. I wanted to point out generalizations may not be 100% accurate. For example, if I "eject" my phone on XP x64, it still charges. If I do that on Win10, charging stops.
  23. @AstroSkipper If I remember well, your computer is full of Windows Embedded POSReady 2009 patches. Perhaps that the issue comes from that. Your OS isn't anymore a real XP and I don't think that @feodor2 has installed all these patches on his computers. Comparing yours results will be very complicated. Regards
