  2. Thanks for the information DosFreak. Bochs v2.6.6 looked interesting. It installed but failed to launch expecting a newer version of Windows. Linked below if anyone wants to check it out. It can be downloaded with RetroZilla v2.2 without JavaScript provided View -> User Style is changed to None. https://sourceforge.net/projects/bochs/files/bochs/2.6.6/ QEMU Manager not required, prefer configuring by hand. Closest found to QEMU v0.11.1 was Qemu-0.11.0-windows-Lite.zip but it fails indicating QEMU.EXE linked to missing export WS2_32.DLL. http://lassauge.free.fr/qemu/release/?M=D As mentioned QEMU v0.8.2 was the most recent version thus far found to run. Running Windows 98 as host does appear to provide poor performance, maybe it's emulation in general though, which seems to waste a lot of CPU cycles. Will keep digging, agree multi-boot is best, just want to try things out.

  4. Mail newsgroups doesn't need its own name, it can be added after the same name roytam1 decides for UXP.. So if he decided on Sea Wolf for UXP Than it would be Sea Wolf Mail & Newsgroups Mozilla did the same exact thing. They called it Mozilla Mail & Newsgroups. Perfectly acceptable. BTW The Sea Wolves is also an excellent movie. https://www.imdb.com/title/tt0081470/
  5. What about Paracelsus for serpent. "Paracelsus (1493—1541), was an Austrian physician, born Phillip Von Hohenheim. On accident, he discovered he could speak to snakes. He had no explanation for the phenomenon and made no attempt to document its simple existence. In the 1990's, the now-famous Harry Potter discovered that he was a Parselmouth" Source http://linguifex.com/wiki/Parseltongue
  6. Can you share your Windows 95-compatible version? I'm sure lots of enthusiasts would love your one-of-a-kind gem You're the first person in the WORLD to get MP4 playing on a Windows 95 PC!! You gotta put this on your site with your web browsers! Holy crud!
  7. not every profile / b-ref frame counts are supported, but baseline profile works.
  8. Wow...that is godly... Do MP4's play on your version?
  9. you need to patch out IsDebuggerPresent to GetErrorMode in binaries(*.plg;*.dll;*.exe). binpatch: http://o.rths.ml/gpc/files1.rt/binpatch.zip for example: binpatch 4973446562756767657250726573656E74 4765744572726F724D6F64650000000000 common.dll
  10. The player works perfectly on Windows ME, but fails to launch on Windows 95 due to missing dependencies. Oh well, Windows 98 is plenty old Thank you Roytam1 <3
  11. Yes, definitely. It feels good to be finally operative again. While I silently lurk on the forum, I am working on the scrolling routines of 38 and 52 ESR, in order to find out if I can bring further improvements. I have made some progresses and if anybody wants to test the experimental 38 and 52 ESR versions of the Patch I am working on, feel free to let me know. I still haven't ported those experimental routines to the 45 ESR version yet, because I want to fully test them, before attemping a port, especially considering the issues 45 ESR SSE has when it comes to scrolling in the old fashioned way.

  17. Yesterday
  18. I don't "care" about the SO-CALLED security mitigations. I run XP, if I "cared" about security I would not be running XP. Aside from that, I have SEVERAL financial web sites that WORK when using 28.2.2 but do NOT work with anything higher. Yahoo Finance is one of them, the Historical Quotes date can not be set with "new" Pale Moon versions. Another is Google Spreadsheets, but this nuance seems to be intermittent with "new" but it *ALWAYS* works with 28.2.2. So NO, I have *no need* to "upgrade"
  19. I've been wondering the same thing. My first thought was that the vulnerability probably affects versions based on FF 49, when the JS engine was rewritten, or later; if so, then FF 45, NM 27, ArcticFox, etc. wouldn't be vulnerable. But as you say, the javascript.options.ion pref does exist in those older browser versions, so I'm not all that confident about that assessment. it is proved unvulnerable, at least on ppc. http://tenfourfox.blogspot.com/2020/01/tenfourfox-not-vulnerable-to-cve-2019.html and nm27 repo had a big front-end merging with arcticfox devel branch, tested with my preliminary browsing test and hope everything works.
  20. Peach Moonshine, for Pale Moon 28 (and 27), is a serious sugestion, it has the same initials as Pale Moon, and is less insipid than most sugestions put forward here, up to now. Moreover, I've provided both the about-background.png and a multiresolution icon for that as a start point.
  21. is capture from winntsetup use "norpfix" option with WIMGAPI and with WIMLIB ?
  22. I'm unable to get this thing working... multi(0)disk(0)rdisk(0)partition(2)\WINDOWS="[1;32mMicrosoft [1;34mWindows [1;33mXP JACLAZ" /noexecute=optin /fastdetect k:\grldr="[1;36mGrub4dos" multi(0)disk(0)rdisk(0)partition(2)\WINDOWS="[1;32mMicrosoft [1;34mWindows [1;33mXP JACLAZ" /noexecute=optout /fastdetect k:\bootsect.bin="[1;37mMS-DOS"
  23. What is the point of refusing to upgrade? Its the same browser, but with security mitigations.
  24. I'm not the least bit worried. All just a bunch of HYPE and HYSTERIA. NOT worth ANY of the hassle, if you ask me. Again, I'll stick with my ~28.2.2. *IF* I were worried, I'd just use a VirtualBox guest to do all my browsing.
