  2. @Cixert Has the boot order changed in the BIOS since the update?
  3. Forbidden You don't have permission to access this resource. " The worst of all, is that after writing a long message with the phrase "Boot .ini" there is no possibility of recovering the message, everything written is erased forever . The problem also happens if I edit a post and in the edition I add or modify an URL link.

  5. The hard drive appears in BIOS, contains a partition with XP and is in C: It seems that boot .ini is correct. I also have 2 more hard drives connected with data. I have tried to disconnect all secondary units and the problem persists.
  6. I think the Windows XP starting sequence is as follows: 1 MBR Sector-> Pre-Boot 2 NTLDR -> C: (System Partition Root) -> Preboot & Boot 3 boot .ini -> c: -> boot 4 Bootsect .DOS -> C: -> Boot (optional) 5 NTDETECT .com -> C: -> BOOT 6 NTBOOTDD .SYS -> C: -> Boot (optional) 7 ntoskrnl .exe -> Systemrootsystem32 -> kernel load 8 hal .dll -> Systemrootsystem32 -> kernel load 9 System -> Systemrootsystem32 -> Kernel initialization 10 devices .sys -> SystemroSystem32Drivers -> Kernel initialization I have applied the Fixboot & Fixmbr commands from a Windows 2003 start CD to try to solve the problem. Now the message "NTLDR is missing press key to continue" appears in English. Apparently the message is set in the MBR sector. If I execute the commands from the XP CD in Spanish, then the message reappears in Spanish. So the hard drive is detected, but not the operating system Pre-Boot file, NTLDR. If the hard drive was not detected, the BIOS put the message "Operating system is missing" I think there is an incompatibility between the BIOS version and this hard drive. Perhaps the hard drive is not in very good condition and the update has a feature that makes it fail.
  7. If it is partitioned with a 2 TB limit, do you have problems? For example, 4 TB hard drive divided into 2 partitions.
  8. That's great news that they aren't abandoning us power users. There's a reason why people use StartAllBack and they have to understand that your users are likely their most loyal users as well and that they really dropped the ball when it comes to supporting enthusiasts. Thanks for replying and for the reassurance! 😃
  9. Update notification Mypal 68.14.0b has been released on Codeberg.org, Therefore, I updated the first post of this thread. In this version, the automatic update of extensions is not enabled. If you are interested in re-enabling this feature, simply read this instruction: Restoring the manual and automatic update function for extensions in Mypal 68.13.3b Altough written by me for an older release, this instruction is still valid for Mypal 68.14.0b. Cheers, AstroSkipper
  10. @Andalu Will this corruption problem also happen with the Win2k "disk.sys" and "partmgr.sys" files?
  11. They promised to make it work but can't promise any timeline

  13. I also wish you a good evening and I understand why you don't wish to talk about javascript before eating ... that and a lot of other things all having to do with security causes me Nausea and can ruin ones appetite. I used to have preconceived notions but I've learned a lot just being here (since 2018) and from people such as yourself to better understand these things and make an effort to become as security conscious as possible without allowing paranoia to take hold - not always easy. EDIT: sorry about all the mistakes today typing.
  14. That's close to the situation that I described. Proton and Tuta relatively new services. One signs up them for free to solve a need, and then forgets about them (because they are slow, the security need has passed, or they made a radical change). After some time I don't remember anymore what I used to sign up. I did use Proton once for a sensitive thing, and it was quite impossible with RoyTam'Å¡ browsers. I'm vary of trying to upgrade a smartphone to new Android. It's not a PC where I can insert a boot CD and fix it. Even if 4 would work, that is still old. I tried to use Telegram on it, which at its core is just a text chat, and the old versions wouldn't work. Authentication would also come as some app with requirements for new OS and SSL.
  15. Welcome back; @Nokiamies and I hope you're doing better. I did notice your absence.
  16. I sort of live a life in between (no extreme) just a few online places and no social media at all. Don't like phones or email either. Yeah where to draw the line, I guess. I used to trust people but over the years life has taught me to offer trust little (cautiously - only when earned) anymore regarding people (both online and IRL) I like to keep a low profile and I don't do things to draw attention to myself and if that means isolation; then so be it.
  17. FYI, this issue still exists in Mypal 68.14.0b. Just tested. Nevertheless, thanks for your new update and the changes to JavaScript in terms of local time and time zone! The functions .toLocaleString(), .toLocaleDateString() and .toLocaleTimeString() are working great now.
  18. This works nice as much as possible. With this Emulator, XP SP3 on any 486 cpu is now real. I played Pin ball and just now I am installing there Moorhuhn Dietmar
  19. If it's a site you use all the time, a simple css replacement in something like Stylus is a very easy solution.
  20. Email servers and communication protocols are "above my paygrade". My mantra is that if you are ONLINE, then your privacy is compromised. "End of story." We each, every one of us, has to decide just where to draw the line. On one extreme, you live in a hill, no phone service, no electricity, no running water, in a house weaved together from small tree limbs. On the other extreme, you're on FACEBOOK or TIKTOK but cite privacy or security "concerns" on web sites like MSFN.
  21. @Tihiy I'm trying to port an old Windows 7 custom theme to StartIsBack and I have a small problem. I use the included Windows 7.msstyles from SaB as a base and everything works as long as I don't segment the taskbar: As soon as I segment the taskbar it loses most of its styling: The interesting thing is however, due to a bug I presume the taskbar on my second monitor can't un-segment itself yet retains the styling: Is there any documentation as to how to edit styles so they retain the styling when in segmented mode? I have some custom-styles for SaB that work fine when segmented so it seems to be possible.
  22. Should work. Just remember that it will bloat your registry, so back everything up first.
  23. Using cmpxchg twice will always be logically incorrect. Please code it correctly!
  24. @Tihiy did you get any new info from Microsoft about 3.7.9 and removing the update block?
  25. Ok guys, now you're convincing me to definitely not give it a try.
  26. Hi @NotAViper, hello from Belgium and welcome to AiO! :bye: I wish you to enjoy the forums! Have a nice day. hpwamr
  27. Well then Tutonota cant send anyone not using Tutanota email messages and MXtoolbox or other tools that can check for SMTP will say no stmp found, oh wait it says there is MX record and SMTP https://mxtoolbox.com/SuperTool.aspx?action=mx%3atutanota.de&run=toolpage STMP is not just for sending emails from client it is also means which email server communicate with other email server. Just because you cant connect to SMTP to send message does not mean it wont exist. If there is email server you can send email to there is SMTP on both ends. Now STMP can (and should be) wrapped in SSL/TLS tunnel where it is encrypted similar to HTTPS traffic but if encryption is breached it is readable. And all this time I am referring to standard email, one other side will receive. There are similar commercial solutions with ability to send link to protected mail server but that mail telling you got secured mail is still sent using SMTP between two mail servers. I highly recommend you do more research on email system before you start argue about this topic. I work almost daily with email servers and know how it runs under the hood on any of them. Even Microsoft Exchange despite using MAPI protocol uses SMTP to talk with other mail servers.
