I do use XP (actually server 2003) as a daily drives main OS, bare metal I do 99% of everything with it, including web browsing.

Fully updated Windows is always key, specially in XP days. I can't uderstand why a lot of people ignoring UpdatePacks and they crying and complaining. It's still same after another 10 years. Yes, and of course there could be bugs. But I quess I must face these issues, when testing images on real machines. Another point is, many "Windows XP Enthusiast" never have real XP machine and never used them, they are just too young..

Root Certificates and Revoked Certificates for Windows XP
D.Draker replied to heinoganda's topic in Windows XP
And don't forget, even if the certificates in its own cert store match yours, you can still see the red flags because its own ones are too old. That browser was released in 2020, we live in 2024. -
StartAllBack settings do not fully transfer between PCs
mackid1993 replied to lubierzca's topic in StartIsBack+
So I have some info to share for anyone coming back to this thread later. Backup HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\StartIsBack to save StartAllBack settings Backup HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Explorer\StartPage2 to save Start Menu pins. Check to see if HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Explorer\StartPage3 exists, back it up if it does. Set up new computer, reinstall all programs that were pinned. Merge .reg file with SAB settings, merge StartPage2 reg file and StartPage3 reg file if that existed for you. Reinstall SAB, all settings but systray layout should transfer. -
Root Certificates and Revoked Certificates for Windows XP

You're welcome! Then we also have to take into account that the iteration you talk about first came through Russia repackers' hands. As it is based on a repack from Russia. -
Root Certificates and Revoked Certificates for Windows XP
ADMM replied to heinoganda's topic in Windows XP
Thanks.I'm using 360 chrome 13.5.1030 rebuild 7 from notheretoplaygames.Does that make any difference from what you said or no difference? -
All of the settings for the tray icons are under HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Control Panel\NotifyIconSettings. If you wipe everything under that it will reset your icons and the order and such but if you are having weird issues that may help. Just clear and restart Explorer. If you're worried you can also export NotifyIconSettings beforehand just to be extra safe!

Then something's wrong on your end, according to @George King, and I quote. "When I installed Windows XP SP3+ (All updates until 04-2019 and .NET and Visual C++)" "it (Supermium) works like a charm." @George Kingwouldn't tell crap, trust me. https://github.com/win32ss/supermium/issues/493#issuecomment-2067100117

Root Certificates and Revoked Certificates for Windows XP
D.Draker replied to heinoganda's topic in Windows XP
No fix, as we know. Most importantly, if the system certification path says this certificate is OK, you have nothing to worry about. Ignore. -
Root Certificates and Revoked Certificates for Windows XP
D.Draker replied to heinoganda's topic in Windows XP
That Browser is made for their local China market. 360EE has it's own (inner) cert. store. If they aren't approved by the communist party and/or absent in their store - you get a mismatch immediately. The devs have to comply with the demands of China's communist party. Obviously, you visit the sites that aren't allowed in China, thus the red flags. -

I get several of those red insecure connection warnings with 360 chrome 13.5.1030.When I look at certification path it says this certificate is ok. After using the roots and revoked certificates updater v1.6 it still happens.Don't have this issue with mypal68. How is this fixed? -
Hi, I just wanted to show a bug i've been having with this theme when using the taskbar on duel screen, the second screen shows the taskbar too small no matter what I do. https://www.deviantart.com/vaporvance/art/Luna10-907548273 I know deviant art is annoying when it comes to downloading files, so if needed I could send a zip? the taskbar style is inside the entire msstyle.

I only tried the 1.16.4.35, have not tried the 1.16.6b1 (not sure I've heard of it until just now).

BTW, I do not watch YouTube videos in browsers under Windows XP. YouTube has become bloated and cumbersome for many years. Under Windows XP and older, weaker machines, there are different ways to watch them more unbloated and less resource-consuming. @NotHereToPlayGames One way is to use the extension uTube from RealityRipple Software for UXP browsers. Doing so, you won't see any ads, even not these annoyances at the end of the Adblocker Test Video. All you have to do is to edit the install.rdf to make it compatible with New Moon 28 or Serpent 52.

Maybe on Pale Moon, but in any case not on New Moon 28 when using @UCyborg's uBlock Origin 1.16.6b1 or uBlock Origin Legacy 1.16.4.35.

The only XP I ran in recent times is installed on bare metal, virtual machines suck for fun stuff, unless maybe with specific setup that I'm not too familiar with and is probably too much bother anyway...if I reboot, XP gets all available hardware resources...until capacitors on this old thing still work, I can still mess around with it and have eXPerience as was meant to be.
