  2. First, I tried a basic installation, without any further settings or additional filter lists in Mypal 68.14.0b using the default multi-process mode. Only the pre-selected ones were loaded. So, at first sight all seems to be fine. But if I enable the default filter list AdGuard - Ads or any other default lists, all is over. Same when adding custom filter lists. Endless loading of these lists. The complete uBlock Origin installation became inaccessible. Even a restart can't do anything. Therefore, I had to uninstall it. BTW, you mentioned my reported issue here https://github.com/Feodor2/Mypal68/issues/426. Unfortunately without the important information that this issue only happens in multi-process mode but not in single-process mode.

  4. oops, this is a false positive due to bad coding practice. problem is inside wintz.cpp and I finally got it fixed. https://github.com/roytam1/UXP/commit/92e1373e8c7dc28bcc715aaad0bd9558b11a7909
  5. In my experience, all those memory "saving features", including this one, and the infamous "refresh" only consume more RAM. https://github.com/win32ss/supermium/issues/507#issuecomment-2071376972
  6. It sounds more like a bug, what other tools did you try, interesting?
  7. Most likely it depends on the outer box maker. I use this Philips on the image below, it does power down with other USB tools, including Vista's built in, but you wouldn't know, would you? Somewhere in 2006-2007 Philips launches the World's First 1TB External HDD, I bought several ones at once, some of them where upgraded to another HDD sizes, like 2TB, but the boxes are the same, made by Philips, all aluminium.
  8. I use "USB Safely Remove" because I had it when I ran XP which was right up to just a month ago. It's a "must" for me because the built-in modern Windows USB eject does not power down the USB device first, the built-in will halt all read/write activity but it forces you to remove the USB device WHILE POWERED.
  9. Not sure if this is useful as it would need to be backported but Microsoft had released a eMMC Hotfix for W8.1 https://support.microsoft.com/en-us/topic/emmc-device-is-not-detected-as-a-storage-device-by-windows-8-1-or-windows-server-2012-r2-ee95ef54-081c-135c-f38e-142cc4dbbf14 The hotfix can be downloaded from here : https://thehotfixshare.net/board/index.php?/files/file/20824-windows81-kb3078919-x64msu/ (64bit) https://thehotfixshare.net/board/index.php?/files/file/20825-windows81-kb3078919-x86msu/ (32bit) Contains dumpsd.sys and sdbus.sys and sdbus.inf fileversion 6.3.9600.17931 from July 2015
  10. For those who have missed, "Zentimo xStorage Manager" is a re-branded "USB Safely Remove" from XP days, both made by Crystal Rich Ltd, 194356, Russian Federation, Saint Petersburg, Kompozitorov 4-132. It even has an absolutely identical UI! Now, I wonder, why would they go with a new name? In any case, third party tools may heavily compromise security of Windows, especially when there's a simple way built in modern Windows, starting with Vista.
  11. Hi, bookie32, actually there should be "Safely Remove Hardware" icon on the taskbar with a dedicated USB icon. https://support.microsoft.com/en-us/windows/safely-remove-hardware-in-windows-1ee6677d-4e6c-4359-efca-fd44b9cec369
  12. I'm still confident you can do better.
  13. On Windows 8.1 I was able to install I219-V by force-installing it as I219-LM. Not sure if it works on W7 also. Got the info from this website : https://blog.workinghardinit.work/2017/06/19/installing-intel-i211-i217v-i218v-i219v-drivers-windows-server-2016-eufi-boot/
  14. Actually when I reload the page and click in the reply box, my previous text is restored.
  15. I'm sorry, I can't say whether he was German or not, it might be seen as PM leaks. But he seemed like a nice fella. And yes, I agree with you, less rumours is always better, people need their privacy. Again, I'm very glad you're with us and share your knowledge!
  16. So I can erase a post by editing it to include boot . Ini? Edit to follow.... So editing does not affect the original post. Only the changes are lost as the Submit button gets stuck on Saving...
  17. Why open any window at all? And why minimize anything you have open in order to access a desktop shortcut? What you want is a utility that sits in your systray next to the clock. Hover over the icon, eject USB. Takes two seconds with no windows at all and only one mouse click. Zentimo xStorage Manager is one such utility. I'm sure that others exist as well.
  18. If you tell here about Proxomitron, then I suggest to try Privoxy once I had moved from Proxomitron to it, I think it is advanced even more and its fast.
  19. Hi guys Is there a way to create a desktop shortcut for ejecting a USB that doesn't open two windows? bookie32
  20. @AstroSkipper About ublock: obviously but I ask did you try the vanilla install https://github.com/Feodor2/Mypal68/issues/426 about codeberg: I get BUFFER_OVERRUN crash only when blame very big file, still no clue what buffer and where. And what type of the crash do you have
  21. Got the same issue with the white text too and reported about it on the now dead mutt site, and some time after here Had that issue from v3.7.5 and onwards, Is it due to dark magic too? and how do I fix it (don't even use dark magic and don;t mind if it be off)? Strangely enough my other win11 machine doesn't have this issue.
  22. I am trying right now with the boot order, I am putting in the bios that starts with: C: D: E: F: And nothing, the result is the same. I am starting a virtual XP on CD-ROM, I am going to try to align the partition with Minitool Partition Wizard. Edit: Minitool Partition Wizard Free cannot be executed in Winpe. Paragon Alingnment Test says it is aligned. It is a IDE Hard Disk Maxtor with 10GB
  23. @Cixert Has the boot order changed in the BIOS since the update?
  24. Forbidden You don't have permission to access this resource. " The worst of all, is that after writing a long message with the phrase "Boot .ini" there is no possibility of recovering the message, everything written is erased forever . The problem also happens if I edit a post and in the edition I add or modify an URL link.
  25. The hard disk drive appears in BIOS, contains a partition with XP and is in C: It seems that boot .ini is correct. I also have 2 more hard disks connected with data. I have tried to disconnect all secondary units and the problem persists.
  26. I think the Windows XP starting sequence is as follows: 1 MBR Sector-> Pre-Boot 2 NTLDR -> C: (System Partition Root) -> Preboot & Boot 3 boot .ini -> c: -> boot 4 Bootsect .DOS -> C: -> Boot (optional) 5 NTDETECT .com -> C: -> BOOT 6 NTBOOTDD .SYS -> C: -> Boot (optional) 7 ntoskrnl .exe -> Systemrootsystem32 -> kernel load 8 hal .dll -> Systemrootsystem32 -> kernel load 9 System -> Systemrootsystem32 -> Kernel initialization 10 devices .sys -> SystemroSystem32Drivers -> Kernel initialization I have applied the Fixboot & Fixmbr commands from a Windows 2003 start CD to try to solve the problem. Now the message "NTLDR is missing press key to continue" appears in English. Apparently the message is set in the MBR sector. If I execute the commands from the XP CD in Spanish, then the message reappears in Spanish. So the hard drive is detected, but not the operating system Pre-Boot file, NTLDR. If the hard drive was not detected, the BIOS put the message "Operating system is missing" I think there is an incompatibility between the BIOS version and this hard drive. Perhaps the hard drive is not in very good condition and the update has a feature that makes it fail.
  27. If it is partitioned with a 2 TB limit, do you have problems? For example, 4 TB hard drive divided into 2 partitions.
