	Never had this happen before.  I'm getting a "low disk space on C:" message from the installer of an old 70 MB game (AoE), and am unable to install it.  I've installed it on this PC before with zero issues.  The thing is, I don't have low disk space.  I have a 32 GB C: partition with 24 GB free as reported by Windows (Win 7 x64 on a SSD).  I've also checked disk space with other tools to make sure Windows wasn't in error, and they all report 24 GB free space on C:.
</p>

<p>
	I copied a 1 GB file from another partition to C: without issue.  I deleted my Recycle Bin, and switched the page file back to a "system managed" size.  I've never gotten a low disk space message when installing any software before on any PC I've owned, so this is very confusing.  Could the installer be corrupt?  I don't suppose there's a command line I could use with the installer to prevent it checking free disk space?  Thoughts?

	So, I doped my good old 2001 machine with audio card based on YMF724F Yamaha chip, consisting hi-fi 1999 quality, sound blaster support, proprietary midi standard extensions and a set of MIDI samples, buff n fluff etc. As, said, it's no-logo, so chipset on board is Yamaha, but I failed to find exact exact pinouts, and the number of on-board jumpers and internal ports is different. This is important, as I intended to use old-school analogue cd audio input from cd palyer to the Yamaha. but, I cannot find exact pinout, and I'm troubled how exactly to connect it.
</p>

<p>
	Here's exact cabling and pins I can use. Please mind that none of them is explicitly marked as CD_IN, so if producer intended them for other uses, I cannot tell.
</p>

<p>
	<img alt="index.php?action=dlattach;topic=334.0;at" class="ipsImage" data-ratio="84.00" height="336" style="height:auto;" width="400" data-src="https://strefapsx.pl/forum/index.php?action=dlattach;topic=334.0;attach=1878;image" src="https://msfn.org/board/applications/core/interface/js/spacer.png" />
</p>

<p>
	What I did is that I put the "grey" connector into the "black" slot, as both seem to have both gnd inside, worst I can do is to invert channels, or, in case of different prpose of the connector,send some useless signal. That's what internet sources suggested as the best, as the extra port is "redundant" due to dual standard by both cd drive and audio cards manufacturers. But in case there is some hidden knowledge, to connect it the very exact way in order to short circuit some jumpers or so, I'd be pleased to know.
</p>

<p>
	Still, despite my attempts, CD audio in quake II was not present. So i went for system settings, which is, our favourite windows XP 32bit home ed. As suggested in guides, I disabled digital CD audio - no bonus. But then I reminded, taht I aleready had problems with dual cd drive in my PC... I have
</p>

<p>
	LG DVD-ROM DRD8160B with CD audio support
</p>

<p>
	LG HL-DT-ST CD-RW GCE-8525B with no audio support.
</p>

<p>
	And it looks like Quake decided to prioritize the latter, as putting CD into this drive and enabling digital audio, actually, worked. Geez, QII without soundtrack feels half-baked at best...
</p>

<p>
	Still, the question is, what can I do to make Quake, or, best, all programs, prioritize one drive over another? software, reg trick?
</p>

	I've recently returned to playing Doom using GZDoom Windows version after reading a discussion about it. Then I discovered that I can't enable anti-aliasing anymore in Half-Life, GZDoom, or GLQuake. It worked before and oversampled the entire screen to calm down unfiltered textures in the distance and borders around pixels up close. This is the setting that should work. I also tried 8x and Sparse Grid, but not even edges of geometry are processed.
</p>

<p>
	I have Windows Server 2003, GT 610 and driver 368.81, which is one of the latest. I previously played on XP with an older driver, and single CPU core.

	I sure hope that this is the right place to post this.
</p>

<p>
	Has anyone ever played TETRIS for Windows? The current version of the game is version 2 with the datestamp of 1990-09-04 21:46:28 with TETRIS.EXE as the executable.
</p>

<p>
	It's a 16-bit executable that was apart of the first volume <em>Microsoft Entertain Pack for Windows</em> as well as <em>Microsoft's Best of Windows Entertainment Pack</em> that ran under Microsoft Windows 3.0 and later.
</p>

<p>
	Now here's the embarrassing limitation. <img alt=":(" data-emoticon="" src="https://msfn.org/board/applications/core/interface/js/spacer.png" title=":(" data-src="https://msfn.org/board/uploads/emoticons/default_sad.png">
</p>

<p>
	According to this <a href="https://tetris.fandom.com/wiki/Tetris_%28Microsoft_Entertainment_Pack_for_Windows%29" rel="external">article</a>, programmers used 16-bit signed integer variables to store points earned by the player.
</p>

<p>
	Once you reach the highest possible score of 32,767 points, it overflows and is displayed as a negative number (-32,768 points).
</p>

<p>
	Are there any 16-bit hex editing utilities that will look at 16-bit Windows executable files and are there any 16-bit de-compilers that will modify the code?
</p>

<p>
	Also, is there any idea what code that was used to store 16-bit signed integer variables to store points that were earned by the player?
</p>

<p>
	If there is no fix, I guess that you'll have to stop at 32,000. ;|
</p>

<p>
	Thank you for your time. <img alt=":)" data-emoticon="" src="https://msfn.org/board/applications/core/interface/js/spacer.png" title=":)" data-src="https://msfn.org/board/uploads/emoticons/default_smile.png">

Since there are some topics where we can rather loosely comment IT news, I thought it might be a good idea to start topic where one can share a gaming news, or his impressions on some game/event without starting a new topic, hoping not to break any unwritten forum rule with it <img alt=";)" data-emoticon="" src="https://msfn.org/board/applications/core/interface/js/spacer.png" title=";)" data-src="https://msfn.org/board/uploads/emoticons/default_newwink.gif"></p>

<p>
	Or more, I don't think I'll need a new topic with everything like the one below...
</p>

<p>
	Sony announced PlayStation 4 Pro might soon acquire boost mode - which means every PS4 game will run better on stronger hardware, not only the one especially prepared/patched by the devs for the consol's Pro version.

<p>
	With the release of the game "Inside" by the creators of Limbo, a lot of people have been talking about it. Specifically, they've been talking about the ending and how terrible they think it is, ruining what was, apparently, an otherwise flawless game.
</p>

<p>
	And that got me thinking. I've seen a lot of games that have put people off simply because they didn't manage to hold to their high standards by the end, leaving players disappointed. So, what I'd like to know is this. What, in your view, is the absolute worst ending of any game you have ever played?

<p>Apparently in Brasil, they had Netflix service via your Playstation 2. As you know there economy is still manufacturing goods from the early 1990's. Nothing is really different but it is obvious you can't access HD services??? but what the PS2 was limited to.</p><p>
Even so a person could program the PS2 to bypass there block and watch Netflix as well as other pay tv. Keep in mind the codec used is limited as a PS2 is limited DVD technology.</p><p>
I am really amazed such a thing existed. Nowdays some people are using there X-box or 360 to access such services. Having a PS2 is like have a really cheap VCR lying around. In fact the DVD community ( that group ) was attempting to make a platform that supports 3d.</p>

Tried running it from DOS in 98SE but that didn't work either. Tried adding the line "SET BLASTER=A220 I5 D1 H5" to the autoexec.bat file but it didn't work. I'm thinking there's a problem with communication between the game and Windows.</p>

<p>Hello,</p><p>Recently I have tried playing a Nintendo Wii game, Mario Kart Wii, online, As I was always able to. However, before I could connect, I got a nasty message saying that the Nintendo Wi-Fi connection service has been discontinued.</p><p> </p><p>By looking at this link: <a href="http://www.nintendo.com/consumer/info/en_na/services-update.jsp" rel="external nofollow">http://www.nintendo.com/consumer/info/en_na/services-update.jsp</a> , it appears that Nintendo has discontinued all online in-game features for many Wii, DS and DSi games. The following link provides a full <a rel="external">list:http://www.nintendo.com/consumer/gameslist/en/games-wifi.jsp</a> . </p><p> </p><p>Personally, I find this somewhat greedy on Nintendo's part. Who here would like if Microsoft blocked out all internet access on Windows 98/95/ME/2000/XP/Vista just because they are older. It would not be nice seeing messages like "Your software is out of date. Please upgrade to a more reliable operating system, like Windows 8.1, to use the internet."</p><p> </p><p>Now getting back to the point, I was wondering if anyone knew of any workarounds. All help is appreciated.</p><p> </p><p>PS: I did not mean to offend Nintendo. I was simply stating my opinion.</p><p> </p><p>Thanks</p>

<p><a href="http://www.pcgamesn.com/100-best-free-pc-games" rel="external nofollow">http://www.pcgamesn.com/100-best-free-pc-games</a></p><p>I'm not a gamer myself, so I haven't heard of any of these. But they sorta look fun :-)</p><p>I suppose for people (like me) who wouldn't know where to look, or don't really want to spend time looking, this list might be useful.</p><p>Wonder if there's a Windows ME game buried in there? LOL.</p><p>Enjoy.</p>
