This is a small program created by jcarle that I have decided to update and maintain that allows you to download and install* all of the current Windows critical updates and programs. All updates are downloaded directly from Microsoft's new CDN servers to your computer with a single mouse click. I will be keeping this program up to date and removing bugs. Feedback is appreciated.

For v4.80.1007.0 (Stable) you MUST have .NET Framework 4.8 installed for WUD to function, and also requires a x64 version of Windows 7 Service Pack 1 or above.

For v2.50.1002.0 (Legacy) you MUST have .NET Framework 3.5 installed for WUD to function.

*This is a optional feature but only available in v4.80 and above.

Both v2.50.1002.0 and v4.80.1007.0 are included in this All-In-One Bundle! Update Lists (.ulz) will only work with v4.80.1007.0. v2.50.1002.0 might be able to download one or two updates, but most will crash this version of WUD so it's recommended to use v4.80!

But when I went to Microsoft Catalog to grab some missing updates, I noticed that all the files have a much longer filenames.

For example: 'AMD64-all-windows6.1-kb2803821-v2-x64_d89c709a7908f771a78e27933081f269c2abfb9d.msu'

Additionally, each file is in its own, separate folder. The above file was inside this folder: 'Security Update for Windows 7 for x64-based Systems (KB2803821.'

Could someone explain why the naming difference?

I intend to build another integration and will probably merge the the short-name files with the long-names, as long as it won't cause NTLite to hemorrhage.

When I came back to the PC at 3pm today the

downloads were incomplete and task manager

was showing no data flow.

What had happened was that the download

provided a message saying a file was missing

and was being skipped.

Then it just STOPPED.

What would have been better would have been

for it to

skip the file and KEEP GOING.

As there are missing files this is probably 

affecting everyone.

I want to keep my W7 Ultimate 64-bit setup for as long as possible, so I recently slipstreamed my 2012 W7 (all versions) DVD with 200+ updates that were obtained via Windows Updates Downloader.

This is the first time I've tried this.

An online how-to showed me how to use NTLite for the job.

It seemed to work OK and I installed the new integrated W7 onto a new computer I've just built.

But now I'm confused. The ULZ list obtained via Windows Updates Downloader only showed updates to March 2015.

But when I logged my new rig into Microsft Updates, I was offered another 96 'important' updates, plus 5 'optionals'.

I don't understand why this disparity. I mean, I would have thought that ULZ lists would have included updates of a more recent vintage than March 2015, if, as seems to be the case from my Microsoft logon, they are actually available.

I'm sure there's a logical reason, but I'd appreciate knowing what it is.

I receive a new PC that has just been imaged with Windows 7.  I have been told to get patches on it so they match the ones that our SCCM server has pushed; no more, no less.

It's easy to query WMI for QFEs on a patched machine.  I can write something that would edit the .UL files and cast out any patches that are not on the patched machine. 

What I really need is some way to run WUD with command line switches, so it can automatically download the latest ULZ files and end, and another switch that would let me specify the Update List to process.  It would basically do a 'check all' and download all of the patches that I need to have.  This way, I could set up an automated process for bringing machines up to speed.

This is my first attempt at making an update list and I'm sure this is a simple problem with syntax or a small typo somewhere in my ul, but I cant find it and would love a second or more pair of eyes.

the situation is the following.

I just installed Windows XP Home edition on an old computer. Then I installed Service Pack 3 right after installation of the operating system.

Then I downloaded Windows Updates Downloader and the latest update list for Windows XP.

The question is following: Do I need also to install update list for Windows XP SP2 or is it enough when I already have SP3 installed with the latest updates?

These are MSU files I've downloaded using WUD.

Am I missing something?

I also downloaded the ul file windows-7-sp1-x64-enu.ulz and placed it in C:\Program Files\Windows Updates Downloader which is where the WUD.exe file is.

Yet when I launch WUD I get the message No update list found. If I then hit the + it opens up the URL to http://www.windowsupdatesdownloader.com/

Can you please help me resolve this issue.

Apparently, there was an update in the list that couldn't be found on the server.

WUD had opened a messagebox wanting me to confirm that I understand the update could not be found.

That means that it waited all night for confirmation instead of just downloading everything!  So I have to finish running the rest of the update downloads in the morning whilst I'm working.  Ugh...

I propose two possible solutions to this:

1. Add a checkbox for "no dialogues" - that is, just download everything and skip over the errors
2. Just download everything and save a log file with the results

I have been planning on using WUD to slipstream updates into my Win7 All-In-One ISO for my new ISOSTICK! , and repeat for laughs on 8, Vista, and XP since I will occasionally use them as well.

WUD seems to enjoy crashing at inopportune times, and if I open it back up, it will make me either manually select updates (I'm guessing green = already exists), or re-download all of them! This means, as the months go on, and a couple of updates are added, I will have to figure out what is/isn't already there.

If I'm missing something, please enlighten/tease/harass me as you wish =)

Have beenn trying for days now to access the Upate Lists page over at windowsupdatesdownloader.com, but have been constantly getting the following message:

Server Error in '/' Application. A network-related or instance-specific error occurred while establishing a connection to SQL Server. The server was not found or was not accessible. Verify that the instance name is correct and that SQL Server is configured to allow remote connections. (provider: TCP Provider, error: 0 - No connection could be made because the target machine actively refused it.)

Any assistance is greatly appreciated.

While it downloaded aboui 72 and I installed each one, but when I go to windows update after that and after rebooting, it shows another 117 to download and install and then after that another 81 or so.

How or where can one get all of the current updates to download. In other words UL lists that have more than the amount shown. 

The reason is to include as manay as possible onto the DVD and slipstream as many as possible to avoid the download times. I am doing this as I often restore other peoples badly virused etc computers and want to save a lot of time. 

I have the Nlite application to build the DVD with (havent even tried that yet) but clear instructions seem to be online.

Also wondering where windows stores the already installed updates, when it downloads them. Perhaps can use those to slipstream? The standalone ones if I open them with Winrar or 7zip seems to show all the individual items in several folders. I am wondering if those are replication of how the windows WUSA program is used to install the updates manually.

But the main 1st question is how to get all the updates right up to the current.

I had tried WSUSoffline but it keeps hanging on some glb folder for the .net45 update and never gets past it saying I have a file error. It used to work in the past, but now appears to be broken. I reinstalled and ran it but it just keeps running into that error at some point. 

Is there a utility that allows you to install all of the standalone updates without any user intervention even if the updates do not apply to skip past those ones?

I have win7 64+sp1 iso

Did the following

- downloaded all the updated of  Windows 7 Service Pack 1 x64 2015-01-13

- use uUpdate-win7v5.CMD to integrated them

- use rt_7_lite_win7_x64 to customized and create the iso 

- install the new iso

- after installation check windows update

Why is that windows update still show many important updates to install and some of the

update that is integrated to the new iso still show as uninstall ?

Did I missed something when doing the integration ?

I'm using the latest Win7 x64 SP1 .ulz, and I remember reading somewhere that if I include all MSUs, then Windows installation will fail, which I've tested to be true.

So, which MSUs shouldn't be slipstreamed?

How can I install the entire update at once?
