do we need fw1.1 and 2 after installing this? If so , framework will be a big trouble on us. Like 100mb

i read that .net framework 3 = .net framework 2 + vista components.

based on that, i think .net v2 apps should work with the v3.

yes, that's right

So the installer will install NFX2.0 at the same time? I guess I don't need a seperate exe for v2 then...

if it only contains fw2 and vista components then why do we need to install it on xp?

"Vista components" is not "stuff for Vista only". What they mean is what's needed for you to run WPF (a.k.a. Avalon) apps on your XP box and such e.g. the new NY Times reader (very nice).

All you need is the old 1.1 for the older .NET apps, and now 3.0 (which already includes 2.0).

if you don't have Vista and Vista-aware applications, why bother with .net v3??

If you have Vista, you already have .net 2 & 3 installed, so it's irrelevant. If you don't use apps making use of WPF (or WCF or WWF or WCS) yet, then sure, you can wait 'till it happens. It's really just a matter of time.
