Thank You for the links,
Surely I have read these topics befor posting. First link is about uninstall of google, so it's very bad idea, second one is better, but it's not install anymore, but self extract and there are a few probs with that way like explorer int. etc.
So what? No switch? Google realy sucks...

GTB is installed into IE.
Mine is 2.41 MB downloaded from the official site of FG. It's with GTB.

I would suggest you to use Free Fownload Manager.
It's free, it's great (maybe the best), doesn't include any s*** and it could be installed silently very easy either by switch or AutoIt script.
Here is an example, the script should be slightly modified to match the newest version (2.1.494).
http://www.msfn.org/board/index.php?showto...amp;hl=downloadUse quality software

Do not support companies that bundle s*** in their products.

Like i said before there's a "FlashGET" toolbar but no "Google" toolbar.
That may accutnt for the file size
Maybe a picture can paint a thousand word's

Yes, there's also a FGTB in IE.

Yeah, But no google toolbar installedis'nt that what you were referring to ?
I've now unistalled/reinstalled many times today and i still have no google toolbar installed on the this newer build of flashget
An older flashget 1.72 (2.58mb) installs the google toolbar and has a seperate install entry in add/remove programs so i uninstalled both flashget and google toolbar re-downloaded the new (build 128) version of flashget (2.41mb) and guess what no google toolbar is installed !
To test this you should uninstall flashget and goole toolbar from add/remobe programs
then delete the flashget and google folders in program files
and then re-download the latest build of flashget from the official flashget download mirrors
and install

You may use my
autoit if you want, it does not include Google Toolbar
Alex
Aug 29 2006, 09:54 AM
@ ironside,
If You don't have IE maybe flashget does not offer GTB to install, otherwise - for sure it does. I downloaded new version a few times and it's really there.
Autoinf - vey good, just could You be more specific how to use it.
Thakns in advance,
Alex

@ ironside
It looks like there are different packages for the same version.
It's no problem as long as we can get rid of GTB. I also got rid of FGTB.

This topic is going like a dog chasing it's tail, but I will say this. On the FlashGet site, they mention to explicity use the new build 138 (I'm not a FlashGet user, so get me biased here). That is a minor version change, so is still v1.72 with bug fixes. Now, strange thing is that I just downloaded with a fresh browser cache, a version 1.0.0.0 but the additional properties has v1.7.2.0. This is totally wrong build number and is...well, you figure it out.
Edit:
More clarification

Here's my take on it.
If you have once installed FG, and also got the googlebar as an extra,
de-installing it via "Add and remove programs" will still leave traces of the googlebar left in the registry.
Perhaps the installer sees these "traces" and therefore think it is installed.
Hence, on subsequent installations it wont get installed.
I'mm gonna try it out and not use my un-installing apps that takes snapshots of the registry before and after.
(which I always normally do)

The md5 of that file is identical to the one from amazesoft that has the googlebar.

Like you said google toolbar must still be istalled even after unistalling flashget or is installed with another program perhaps
The flashget with the google toolbar had an seperate entry in add/remove programs sou you could uninstall it without uninstalling flashget so i presume if it has not got a seperate entry entry in add.remove then your problem must be elsewhere

just to clear all this s**t up. FlashGet DOES install Google Toolbar. but its also very easy to remove. just add this to your script after you have installed Flashget.
regsvr32 /u /s "%PROGRAMFILES%\Google\GoogleToolbar1.dll"
and that will remove the toolbar. Easy

Used Your link and this google crap is in there.
Remove goole is easy BUT reg entire remains and that's all Goole need.
Pitty that there is no switch.

Oh!, You don't half make it complicated for yourselves, When it could be so easy!
Have fun!

The Flashget.exe is 1.7.2.0 in the resources, version 1.7.2.128 in the about window so the later matches the version recommended on their download page.

I've done some quite extensive registry snooping, and has made a "flashget.cmd" that should delete all of the google crap:
http://www.msfn.org/board/index.php?s=&...st&p=553725PS. I updated it 2 minutes ago.

The version exist in the website now does not containe a tool bar
ironside
Sep 20 2006, 05:02 AM
To get rid of the google bar use this command:
CODE
regsvr32 /s /u "C:\Program Files\Google\GoogleToolbar2.dll"
That will remove it form IE and add/remove programs
You can then run a delte command to delete the google folder in program files along with the GoogleToolbar2.dll .
Dunno why no one thought of that before !
Have a nice day !
