Hi.

It will only work in this order:

9.0 -> 9.1 -> 9.1.2 -> 9.2

So skip 9.1.1 and 9.1.3 and it will slipstream just fine.

at first thank you newwink.gif - i have 2 question;

1. whats with the updates 9.1.1 and 9.1.3? do i not need them? these both are security updates or?
2. what are the commands to slipstream them?

thanx a lot !!! newwink.gif

Just download the 9.20 full installer from here. Or get you specific language version from here.

No slipstreaming required newwink.gif

juancarlos9 is talking about the Pro version, not the Reader.

Answer to question 1:
Updates 9.1.1 and 9.1.3 are security updates. Updates 9.1.0, 9.1.2 and 9.2.0 are quarterly updates. Applying quarterly updates over security updates doesn't work. So you must apply only the quarterly ones.

Answer to question 2:
msiexec /a <path to AIP msi> /update <path to msp>

msiexec /a AcrobatUpd920_all_incr.msp /update <path to msp>
like this? - but where is my "<path to msp>" - maybe the setup.exe on the cd..

another question - what about the skipped 9.1.1 and 9.1.3 patches; are they important to install or they're included?

from the Acrobat 9 setup, u need to generate an Administrative Installation Point (AIP) first.

from AIP, then only apply the MSP updates via the commands above.

9.1.1 and 9.1.3 security updates are included in the quarterly updates.

thanx a lot newwink.gif

i'm trying to create an administrative installation point with this command : msiexec /a acropro.msi..
but i do not have a file like "acropro.msi" on the cd..

CODE
- Acro3D.msi
- Data1.cab
- Setup.exe
- WindowsInstaller-KB893803
- abcpy.ini
- setup.ini
cybpsych
are these the files only in the CD root?

i guess u have Acrobat 3D?

whatever it is, u can generate AIP to acro3d.msi too.
juancarlos9
thanx newwink.gif - but it looks like a never ending story hehe

i get the following error code - that the transformation path is not correct..
cybpsych
what is the full exact command that u use to create AIP and slipstream the MSP updates?
juancarlos9
i use : msiexec /a acro3d.msi TRANSFORMS=acro3d.mst

I tried this process and found that slipstreaming the patches into a volume license version changes it into a Retail copy and the volume license is no longer valid. Adobe acknowledged this after I spent all morning being given the runaround on the phone, they then suggested I needed to buy a support contract for any further help.

Installing v9 with a volume license key and then applying the patches over the top does work, but thats not much help if you are trying to create a slipstreamed network installation point.

NB If you are working in an environment with redirected personal folders (APPDATA specifically) 9.0 doesn't work and you need at least 9.1 see: http://kb2.adobe.com/cps/404/kb404597.html.
Hmm catch 22 Thanks Adobe.
