Can someone point me to a method to remove the windows media player 9 that comes pre-installed on my XP Pro SP2 CD? Thanks. I searched the forums but found nothing concrete.

Use nLite which is available in this forum.
As I understand it, nLite only works for builing an unattended CD. I'd like to remove it from a live XP Pro SP2.
